In the local churches I can see the oneness of believers with many racial backgrounds. When I came to the local church in Los Angeles, I was amazed by the diversity of believers' backgrounds: Albanian, American, Armenian, African, Chinese, Colombian, Russian, Spanish, and more. However, we are completely integrated with one another to have a corporate expression of Christ. It is like a human physical body. Having all kinds of functions to keep the one body alive. This is the Body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:12).
The Bible says in Genesis 11 that people started speaking different languages and were divided into many nations (Genesis 11:7-9). Today, culture, language, and race are major factors of division. In the local churches, I do not see this kind of division. Instead, I see the oneness among the believers (John 17:21). In the past, I lived in Japan and Russia, and also I visited twenty three states inside the United States, Canada, and twelve European countries. I always had an impression of the same expression of the Body of Christ in each local church wherever I went. As soon as I saw the members, they made me feel at home (1 Corinthians 12:19-26). I felt that they were my people. We are fully integrated together to build up the Body of Christ corporately without language and racial differences.
